Any real experts to fix this?

Much of this article reads like someone took a collegiate freshman paper and copied it into Wikipedia. Is there anyone out there who can add a more appropriate level of detail, information, and grammar to this composition?

This article needs serious clean-up and proper citations. I have edited the first few lines and added proper references, others are welcome to do so too. "6,164,900 which make up 9% of the country population" this is wrong.

Last I checked, the last population estimate of Nepal clocked in a about 28.9 Million people. Which would make 9% around 2.6 million people.

For 6'164'900 buddhists to be 9% of the population, or for 9% of the buddhists to be 6'164'900 people, the population of Nepal would have to be well over 60 million people, so something is clearly wrong here.

Which is it, are there 6 million buddhists (which would make the percentage wrong and more between ~20 to ~25%), or is the 9% population correct, which means that the number of Buddhists are much lower? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.18.0.187 (talk) 12:45, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

You are right. The 9% is sourced to the census 2011 in Religion in Nepal and the Nepal article has sourced info of about 26 mio/population in the same year. JimRenge (talk) 13:10, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

I propose a merge of List of monasteries in Nepal into Buddhism in Nepal. I think that the content in the list of monasteries does not constitute an entire article (WP:LISTCRUFT) and can easily be explained in the context of this article. AviationFreak💬 03:52, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

@AviationFreak- You seem to be too fast, you tagged it within few seconds of creation. I was editing the list, and I lost all data. Anyway, I oppose the merge because there are 100s of monasteries that will go in the list. It will just hinder the purpose of the main article Buddhism in Nepal with unnecessary information.nirmal (talk) 04:01, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

@Nirmaljoshi: My apologies - I saw a small list and figured it ought to be merged. If the list will eventually have hundreds of monasteries, might I suggest draftifying it? That way you have a more complete list once the article hits mainspace. AviationFreak💬 04:08, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

@Nirmaljoshi: Sounds good. I honestly didn't realize there were that many monasteries in Nepal, but that seems to be a bit of an oversight on my part. I am now closing this discussion, as I personally do not feel the articles need to be merged.
