Contested statement edit
In the "Major themes" section the following assertion is made: There are also homoerotic components in this novel, as generally in Thomas Mann's works. I would like to know exactly what these components are and where they appear in the novel and in Mann's works generally. As far as I know, there are none. Even Death in Venice had a non-erotic description of the older protagonist's fascination with youthfulness and aesthetic ideality.
