What is E. as the genus an abbreviation for? RJFJR 21:35, 8 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Its called the Persian Gulf, not the Arab Gulf. See Persian Gulf or Persian Gulf naming dispute for more information. This is English Wikipedia and since Persian Gulf is the name of that international body of water, it should be Persian Gulf. Thanks.Azerbaijani 22:22, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Need to Expand this a Little to Include Persian Gulf/Arab GCC Fish edit

The article mentions one of the Persian names of a species of fish. The GCC states' fishing records track something like 11 different species of Epinephelus, which are commonly and collectively known as Hamour, the same name given to a specific species within that group (confusing, I know). Please see the talk page for Groupers. I will add a short section to either that or to Epinephelus to clarify that.

Hammour is a Grouper, not Cod. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.96.229.87 (talk) 09:29, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
