Aboriginal significance edit

Stradbroke Island has a long and rich indigenous history which I am well aware of, I have removed several statements shown below from the article

It was because of this colouring that the Aborigines believed that it had medicinal benefits.[citation needed] It was known by the Aborigines as Women's lake.[citation needed]

Although probably correct a definitive written source is lacking, I have included the material here in the hope that someone may track down a suitable reference and they can be re-included.--Matt (talk) 23:24, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Move edit

Should this article be named Brown Lake (North Stradbroke Island) to reflect the name of the island on which it is located. - Shiftchange (talk) 07:04, 24 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Changes Made edit

Hi Wikipedians,

I made some additions to Brown Lake's wikipedia page. I extended the lead section and I also added the sections of; Aquatic fauna, Geography, Flora and Natural History. SnoMurWal (talk) 03:45, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reviewed edit

The article has a lede that pulls some information from within the article. It's very close to "B" class as per the evaluation criteria found here. Additional citations are needed. Some cleanup required. The major point it needs help with is #6 on the B-class assessment criteria, "The article presents its content in an appropriately understandable way." Some of the technical terms are not explained, within the article, sufficiently for the casual reader to know what they mean. Articles on Wikipedia must be written with as broad an audience in mind as possible. I believe every other point in the criteria is met sufficiently, though there is room for improvement. The class status has been changed to "C" (Project Lakes only). --ARoseWolf 13:08, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

5x expanded by SnoMurWal (talk). Self-nominated at 01:36, 25 May 2021 (UTC).Reply

  •   This interesting and well-written article is a fivefold expansion and is long enough. It has been nominated a little late, but I think we can forgive that for a student editor. The hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral, and I detected no copyright issues. No QPQ is needed here. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:32, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
