Talk:Broken Arrow

Latest comment: 3 years ago by Hoof Hearted in topic plot device?

Someone I know added a disamibugation to this page which was then removed as a dictionary definition - fair enough, he was wrong to put it there. Interestingly though, I noticed that the existing dictionary definitions that were on the page had also been removed sometime later. Sometime later again someone "undid" that change. I have undone the undo since they are clearly dictionary definitions. See: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/broken_arrow

If they are not dictionary definitions, then remove them from the wikitionary entry!

The entries link to sections of a page, see MoS:DP#URL anchor notation. I have restored them. dissolvetalk 19:46, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Target article needed

edit

One item in the "Other" section appears to flout WP:DISAMBIG#Dictionary definitions. However, it does look like an article on this would meet WP:GNG. See e.g.,

The term Broken Arrow is used in this context in the Battle of Ia Drang and We Were Soldiers articles. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 22:55, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

plot device?

edit

In the "Vietnam in HD" documentary series reporter Joe Galloway says that is what the CO called and that at the time it was a code for the unit was about to be overrun. Is that not a real thing?108.18.158.124 (talk) 03:54, 19 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Agree. I changed the entry to link to Battle of Ia Drang, which (briefly) mentions the term. Hoof Hearted (talk) 19:02, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
