Talk:Brockweir

More likely etymology of Brockweir is English rather than Welsh has listed in the article.

edit

Brockweir (Brocwere dated to 1314), Brockworth (Brochworth dated to 1220). Ekwall (op. cit. s.n. Pershore) gives the etymology of the second element as "bank" (i. e., "shore") and Brockshore would then have the very reasonable meaning of "shore of the brook". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.71.0.9 (talk) 09:14, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I have amended the text on the basis of what is in my version of Ekwall. (I've also reformatted your comment - there was no need for the words "italic text" to appear.) Ghmyrtle (talk) 14:06, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
