"British"
editHas the Prado published a list somewhere that determines if an artist who moves to the UK permanently and does their best known work there is just a continental artist working in Britain, or had by some alchemy become British?
For example, it would appear that Rigaud and Alma Tadema, both born, raised and trained outside the UK and only moving to the UK after they were professional artists, are "British", whereas Lely and Kneller are not. Why? What is the difference? If the answer is "the Prado says so" I'd like to see some evidence for that, please. 213.205.198.144 (talk) 23:20, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
