While BWMA is against metrication of road signs, it seems to be against changing the side of the British roads to drive on as well while it would never make sense to change to driving on the right-hand side without metricating signs at the same time. Its web site shows no position on the side of the roads to drive on. Conversely, the UKMA supports metricating road signs with no position on whether to change the side of the British roads to drive on.--Jusjih 05:21, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure I understand what point you're trying to make. You say BWMA opposes metrication of road signs but has no position on which side to drive on, while UKMA supports metrication of road signs and also has no position on which side to drive on. I don't understand what this has to do with this article. I also don't understand what the metrication of road signs has got to do with which side of the road we drive on. As you have not fully understood, let me explain further. If the UK were ever to change to driving on the right, it would have be an excellent opportunity to metricate all road signs since almost all signs would have to be replaced. Both changes would cost a lot, but neither change is planned anytime in the forseeable future. I do not say that BWMA has no position on which side to drive on, but as I can find no answer at its website, it is possible (I am not 100% sure) that BWMA also opposes changing to driving on the right in your country.--Jusjih 11:07, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I understand your argument now. Thanks for explaining. However, I still see no relevance to this article. Did you start this discussion because you want to add this idea to the article? You can't just use several assumptions to make the suggestion that if the UK ever switched to driving on the other side, this might make it easier to switch to metric road signs which might encourage the government to do so and this therefore might be the reason that BWMA would perhaps oppose switching the side of the road we drive on. Surely that's all just opinion? There exists anti-US sentiment in the UK. There's nothing on the government's web site to say that they are considering declaring war on the USA, but it's possible. That doesn't mean we should add that possibility to the government's article. JK Rowling

I find it a hoot that JK Rowling is an honorary member of the BWMA considering she really doesn't like imperial measurements. Here is an excerpt from an interview with an Australian Newspaper:

Rowling considers imperial quirky and old-bufferish. Not the type of comments one would expect from a loyal supporter.
