BA screw threads and Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine

I have added citations for the information under the "Other" sub-header, specifically about the BA screw threads and Charle's Babbage's Analytical Engine. I used the archived reports as sources that were found at the end of the references section of the article. I removed a small sentence at the end of the BA screw thread paragraph, as there was no citation nor easily found source to back up the information of when and why the BA standard fell out of practice.

Additions to "History" and "Perception of Science in the UK" sections

I am adding additional information in the History and Perception of Science in the UK section. Specifically, I found details of how the Association was organized at the beginning that I feel are significant to their history. I also found information about the changing of perspective the Association went through to arrive at their current views, which should provide a more natural transition from the history of the Association to its current activities.

Addition to the original first paragraph under "British Science Association" Header

I will be adding additional information about what the British Science Association is doing in presents time to help diversify and get many people involved in science and what their mission and goals are. In response to Arms & Hearts, I completely agree with what you are saying and I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. I will actively be working on the opening paragraph to make it sound less like an advertisement or more as if its coming from outside reliable resources. Cml3nc (talk) 21:13, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Lead section

The lead section of this article reads to me like an advertisement or press release, or at best like a summary of what the BSA says about itself rather than what reliable sources have said about the BSA. That may be because it is such a summary: all but one of the seven references cited in the lead section is from the BSA website. Can we rewrite the lead section to more closely resemble a part of an encyclopaedia article? – Arms & Hearts (talk) 21:45, 14 April 2019 (UTC)

Edits to the opening paragraph and additions under "British Science Week"

I will be revising the opening paragraph of the page so that it resembles more of an encyclopedia article as Arms & Hearts pointed out. I will also be adding two new paragraphs under "British Science Week" explaining what the Huxley Summit and Media Fellowship Schemes are which are both organized by the British Science Association. Publications

The British Association used to hold its annual meetings in different cities around Great Britain and Ireland before it switched to using London only. Through much of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries each meeting was accompanied by the publication of a volume or volumes (variously titled Handbook, Guidebook, Survey or Scientific Study) about the town and its region. These covered the local geology, archaeology, history industry, institutions and many other topics and are still to be found in second-hand book shops. They don't seem to have been digitized yet.
