Talk:British Airline Pilots' Association

In para one it is stated that Woods Humphries initiated a programme of libel and sackings of BALPA members. A serious alegation of "libel", was this ever taken to a court of law and proven? If not I suggest that this word be withdrawn.

In para two, it states that Woods Humphries was "sacked" again a defamatory term that is contradicted elsewhere in records available on the internet where it stated that he "resigned". These same records say that Woods Humphries was in 1940 recruited by Lord Beverbrook to establish an air bridge for the ferrying of aircraft from NORTH AMERICA to Britain, to avoid the very heavy losses of aircraft being sent by sea. This air bridge was recorded a success! As such I believe Woods Humphries deserves some respect and reporting accuracy.

BUPA's refusal to provide evidence to support their use of derogatory words "libel" and "sacked" relating to Woods Humphries edit

BUPA have responded to e.mails asking for evidence by saying that they are prepared to substitute the word "slander" for "libel", and that "resigned" will not be substituted for "sacked" because their statement is true. Do they have documented evidence related to their statement? It appears from the unconvincing response that they do not, but still they persist in this spiteful reference

This reads like a promotional brochure edit

Has BALPA ever done anything that wasn't so noble? Have they made any mistakes? Are there no criticisms? Is there another angle on any of its activities and outcomes, such that they that might not be in the best interest of the flying public? Articles that speak so highly about an organization come across as self-serving, and they make me wonder about WP:NPOV. Dcs002 (talk) 10:52, 8 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
