I have personally seen

  • "Habeas Corpus" by Allen Bennett,
  • "Pass the Butler" by Eric Idle,
  • "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum"

performed in the Brisbane Arts Theatre, so I have added these plays from my own personal knowledge of these plays having been performed in the theatre.

I accidentally gave Eric Idle's play, "Pass the Butler", the incorrect title of "What the Butler Saw", and I have now corrected this error to the correct title for Eric Idle's play.

I am not aware of whether, or not, "What the Butler Saw" by Joe Orton has been performed in the Brisbane Arts Theatre, but have returned this play title because of the correction which was made by another poster before I could correct the title of Eric Idle's play. I do not know whether the correction of author was because the play has actually been performed at the Brisbane Arts Theatre, or whether the poster assumed, mistakenly, that I had made an mistake concerning the author of the play. Cleaned up article to ensure NPOV. Removed POV statements such as "wonderful courtyard" and "quaint little theatre" etc etc. Also tidied up paragraph on the ghost of Jean Trundell, creating two separate paragraphs one on the ghost and one for the actual theatre itself (as oppossed to one encompassing the two and switching between them frequently.) Opening statement made no sense so have revised it. (An amateur theatre can not by definition figure in an actor's professional career, unless they were paid in which case this fact should be cited.)

Well, in an actor's resume, anyway. In a Biographical or a historical sense, it it perfectly reasonable. There are many professional actors who retain a Strong Connection to a smaller theatre or theatre company they have performed in. Churba 14:42, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

When I was acting and doing technical work there in the late 1970s, it was considered a Pro-Am theatre, since there were professional actors who appeared there from time to time and professional directors who were paid for their work. But I have no idea whether that situation still exists. Tony (talk) 18:56, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I do think the real Jennifer Flowers who performed at The Arts may be amused at being confused with an American celebrity :-)

When I worked backstage there she seemed confident in the difference :-)
