What would be an appropriate way to write that Bridgewater State Hospital is located in Bridgewater, MA, or that Titicut Follies was filmed there? Yourai (talk) 19:52, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

History of the Area

edit

The name "Bridgewater" makes me wonder if there may be history related to colonists from Bridgwater, Somerset, England? The nearby towns of Taunton (named after Taunton, Somerset, England) and Somerset (named after the county itself) would lend credence. If so, would the town have originally been "Bridgwater" (without the "e" same as the original in Somerset)? The whole area seems replete with West Country English names like Falmouth, Plymouth, Plympton, Taunton, Weymouth, Easton, etc. 2607:FEA8:611A:F600:619E:73A0:3086:9C3E (talk) 22:51, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
