Reviewer: HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:08, 9 March 2010 (UTC) I'll be back later on to make some comments! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:08, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Checklinks throws up a few supposedly problem external links but, clicking on them, all work so that doesn't concern me.
  • I'm happy this meets the criteria and I've given it a copyedit for you, so it'll be a nice, easy pass. A few suggestions for taking it further:
  • Prose quality- I've given it a quick copyedit but it could use a little more attention- a lot of sentences start with "In [year]..." or "Moynanhan..."
  • For purposes of readability, I'd suggest splitting the career section into two or even 3 sections and/or subsections
    • That's what I thought of doing too, but never knew where to split it from. Update: Alright, I did a test, not sure.
  • I have reservations about whether the image qualifies as fair use under the NFCC, especially since the subject is living. A Flickr trawl might produce something that can be used or some whose authors could be persuaded to release them.
    • Wow, I feel so dumb for not checking the image out. Anyways, I've removed the image, as it fails NFCC. Also, I did a check on Flickr and there aren't any free images available, but I'll keep looking.

Once the other issues have been addressed, I hope you'll put it up for peer review and even FAC and I'll be happy to give a more thorough copyedit if you need it. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:12, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the review, HJ, I appreciate it. :) Yeah, maybe in the future I'll take this article to a PR. Anyways, thanks again. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:33, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
You're quite welcome. Let me know how things go in the future. I think there's potentially a future FA here. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:39, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Birth date

edit

Why was her birth date change from September 21 to April 29? Her birthday has been listed as 9/21 for over a decade, even if the year was in dispute. I see no evidence or the change of birthday. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.133.12.13 (talk) 01:20, 22 May 2012 (UTC) Also, everywhere else in the web (imdb.com, German Wikipedia etc.), she was born in 1971, not '70. Which is right? --178.10.177.217 (talk) 18:38, 8 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Any birthdate appearing in the article needs to be supported by a reliable source. IMDB and other wikis do not meet the reliable sourcing criteria.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 22:25, 9 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

--The REF SOURCE is a bad link: it now goes to an article on Tom Brady. Should be 1970, as the IMDB fact-check was done years ago. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dfoofnik (talkcontribs) 20:05, 14 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

This date continues to flip flop and is no longer supported by any reliable sources. Please restore the date only when a source meeting the necessary criteria (i.e. not Wikipedia:External links/Perennial websites!) is found.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 19:59, 13 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

she was born in 1970 not 71 or 72 Babyiluvu223 (talk) 12:14, 25 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

And you know this how, when TV Guide and Us Weekly say otherwise? --Tenebrae (talk) 19:27, 26 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Click the link after the first date: April 28, 1971 (same as IMDB's)Dfoofnik (talk) 21:18, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
And it's different from that in TV Guide. What your point? --Tenebrae (talk) 22:25, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

For the record, her official twitter account tweeted it was her birthday on April 28. Although Twitter is generally not a reliable source, it does generally resolve the question of what her actual birthdate is. https://twitter.com/bridgetmoynahan/status/725719218264662016 I'd imagine somebody can find a reliable source verifying this in print somewhere. Jo7hs2 (talk) 23:29, 14 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

And AP via WTOP and DC confirms birthday April 28. Was 45 on April 28, 2016. This is sufficient proof in my opinion. See at bottom: http://wtop.com/media-galleries/2016/04/today-in-history-april-28/slide/1/ Jo7hs2 (talk) 23:34, 14 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and made the edit. I considered the previous issue of equally reliable sources in making this edit, but with the AP AND another (entertainment tabloid type) source, plus the unreliable information from her Twitter, there is now sufficient proof that it clears the POV threshold and the existing reliable sources point towards the April birthday. Irony

edit

This may or may not belong in a GA/FA candidate (if not, I'm not terribly sad), but it was pointed out in writing this week that Ms. Moynahan chose to give the son of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady the initials J.E.T.. I didn't notice this before, but if it's a coincidence it is a heck of one. This ref isn't the best one obviously, but the name of the kid has been published and it's not out of line for the WP article to connect the possible dots for the reader, right? ☯.ZenSwashbuckler.☠ 21:11, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Either way, it's not really something to include in the article. Remember, this is an encyclopedia, not a place to add trivial information. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 01:16, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Birth date

edit

Not only did the anon IP yesterday make a POV change to favor one source over the other (TV Guide v. Us Weekly), but the editor was not even honest about the change, giving a completely did month and day than that given at the source he chose, TV Guide. His own cite says "Sept. 21" and not April 28! [1] --Tenebrae (talk) 18:20, 24 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

The [l] link "supporting" Sept 21, 1971 now says April 28, 1971 - which is what IMDB has been saying all along - while Wiki can't even decide on a year? Dfoofnik (talk) 21:15, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Clearly, the first date got mistranscribed when it went in originally. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:32, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

height

edit

Very few actors or, esp, actresses can stand and look Tom Selleck in the eye. I realize it is not pro forma to list height and weight, but I don't know of any rule or policy, and in this case, this seems to be an elephant in the room. I don't know her height: I came here looking for it. Len Cariou plays her grandfather (on 'Blue Bloods', for those of you who live under a rock), and I believe imdb says he's 5'9". Ms Moynahan looks to be a foot taller — probably an illusion, but 5 to 6 inches wouldn't surprise me. rags (talk) 03:35, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I am watching episode 118, 19Feb2016, in which her investigator refers informally to her height as 6'. Might be 6'1", or 6'2", but she's definitely tall. It would be interesting to know. rags (talk) 05:45, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
