Untitled edit

This disambiguation page should only list articles or potential articles that have "Brandywine Creek" in their name or could potentially be confused with this (so Brandywine River is OK to list here as a dab, but Brandywine Airport is not).

I think this should just be a list of all the creeks named "Brandywine". sorted by country and state / province. The country and state names should not be linked. See Wikipedia:DAB#Disambiguation_pages.

I will be bold and clean this page up in the next day or so. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:21, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Brandywine edit

Brandywine Creek and Brandywine River items moved to Brandywine page (disambiguation). I tried to go through all the linked pages and update them.

Brandywine Creek and Brandywine River updated to be REDIRECT to Brandywine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LeheckaG (talkcontribs) Jun 18, 2008

Anybody who enters the words "Brandywine Creek" in the Wikipedia search window is almost certainly looking for information about a stream, so I guess I don't think this was a good move. Why make people sort through a list that includes high schools and airports? See the contents of Yellow River (disambiguation) vs. Yellow (disambiguation), for instance. --Malepheasant (talk) 23:54, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I did not do this - I had made a dab page listing all 26 Brandywine Creeks in the USA (although most have no articles). You can see it here. I also think this is a bad merge. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 23:58, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think the page should return to the version that Ruhrfisch linked to. VerruckteDan (talk) 04:35, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I concur, too. Looks like we also have a similar situation with Tinker/Tinkers Creek. - Eureka Lott 23:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
The issue is that there are Brandywine Creek, River, ... and Tinker, Tinker's, Tinkers, ... names which are NOT streams. There is a Brandywine Creek State Park, a Brandywine Creek Dam, a Brandywine River Museum. Several Tinker Creek Schools, Tinkers Creek (Dam, Falls, Bridge, Locale, Park, School). and they are in different civil sub-divisions. LeheckaG (talk) 01:16, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I created the original Brandywine Creek disambiguation page (so I do dispute someone else's claim that they "created" it? and originally I just had streams or specific "Brandywine Creek" entries on it, I got push-back from someone else about why three? : Brandywine, Brandywine Creek, and Brandywine River disambiguation pages? So then I merged the Brandywine and Brandywine River entries into the Brandywine Creek disambiguation page (since Brandywine Creek was the largest/longest of the three), and someone else was going to move Brandywine Creek to Brandywine. Then someone else came along and deleted the Brandywine and Brandywine River entries from Brandywine Creek, so I added them to Brandywine, and updated Brandywine Creek and Brandywine River to be redirect pages. Having gone through the above exercise, and with Tinkers being an even "worse" instance, Tinker((')s) creek/river/... which are not streams/rivers, to me it made sense to add them to the Tinker disambiguation, and point the others to it?
What started the "issue" was people creating articles with undisambiguated names. LeheckaG (talk) 01:36, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
