Citations for functions of HBOT as treatment

edit

I think it would be useful to have citations for each of the specific functions of HBOT in reduction of ICP, bactericidal activity, and increased immune function. Giving more citations seems especially prudent given the on-going controversy/politics over HBOT as a potential treatment for anything related to brain injury or stroke, and the multiple-times-mentioned-but-never-rectified "lack of sufficient evidence". (warning, that was my own POV showing, but this is a talk page after all) Jimw338 (talk) 11:07, 22 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

I suggest that the article Otogenic brain abscess be merged here, as appropriate. Brianga (talk) 16:46, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Can someone add an arrow to the image please?

edit

The abscess is hard to see in the image because it is not very dark (although it is darker than the brain tissue), and it has no clear border. Many readers might think the lateral ventricles are the abscess, but the ventricles are sealed off from the abscess. In fact, the abscess is compressing the adjacent region of the lateral ventricle. Could someone with photo editing software please add an arrowhead pointing to the abscess? It is in the lower left of the image, mostly below the shunt, touching the shunt. Thank you. 209.6.225.254 (talk) 05:11, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

The first paragraph needs citations, and seems dubious

edit

The first paragraph needs citations. Also, it says several things that I doubt are true. For example, I doubt that brain abscess is most common in the third decade of life. 209.6.225.254 (talk) 05:15, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
