Why I deleted the "total rewrite needed" template edit

I deleted the following template from the article:

The reasons:

  • Whoever added this neglected to give any reasons on this Talk page.
  • In looking over the article, I don't see a need for a total rewrite. The information looks generally correct and the organization is fairly understandable.

Nyaya w.r.t. Vedanta edit

The opening line says "The Brahma sūtras, also known as Vedānta Sūtras, constitute the Nyāya prasthāna, the logical starting point of the Vedānta philosophy (Nyāya = logic/order)." Is it correct to equalize Nyaya and Vedanta? They are usually considered separate schools of Hindu philosophy. If the editor means that Nyaya is the first step to understanding Vedanta, then the statement is correct, but it would be good if a little explanation is given for readers who have little or no familiarity with schools of Hindu thought. I would've attempted it, but don't know enough about Nyaya/Vedanta to be sure what the author means here.VishalB (talk) 16:19, 21 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Found the required info in the Prasthanatrayi article and elsewhere on the web. Have rewritten opening paragraph accordingly. VishalB (talk) 04:07, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
