Yes, but its basic meaning is "fir tree". Including all the Pinaceae is an extended meaning of the word, just like in English, when "cat" is used for all the Felinae. bogdan 09:14, 14 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I know: but I think I've confused a fir with a pine tree before, so I use brad for both; I've never confused a house cat with a tiger... Alexander 007 09:19, 14 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
