Notable MLAs edit

The two that have articles are Richter and Barlee; Jim Hewitt is highly notable and deserves a bio, not my forte though....Skookum1 (talk) 00:18, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Old riding/new riding edit

I'm I'm not mistaken the boundaries of this riding very closely resemble the original, although the old, old Similkameen riding included Princeton and environs. This is one of those articles where old/new maps are rather de rigeur so I'll add reqmap; but by a map it's not a location map that's needed but a map or two maps showing the boundariies of the riding. Placing the centrepoint of this riding on an electoral districts map would be putting hte cart before the horse etc....Skookum1 (talk) 00:18, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is Penticton in this riding now? If memory serves, it wasn't in this riding before, which indeed makes it a very different riding than the previous incarnation; it was in Okanagan South no?. i.e. when the old Boundary-Simlikameen existed....Skookum1 (talk) 00:25, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Other uses edit

Also to note that the term Boundary-Similkameen is used in non-electoral-district ways; partly because of the continuity of community along the Crowsnest Highway and the frontier-era economic/social ties within the region. I think it was in fact a term already in use before the parent ridings were merged....Skookum1 (talk) 00:20, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
