"the writing of his over 1,000 songs" edit

I've read the book and I dont recall much that relates to "the writing of his over 1,000 songs". It was about his poor childhood, travelling around the US as a Hobo on railway goods trains, some fruit picking (like The Grapes Of Wrath ) and at the end only a little about getting work as a singer. If you expect a lot of comment about him writing his songs you are going to be disapointed, so I've decided to delete that comment. (And sorry, but personally I found it a rather dull read, especially the too-long part about his childhood). 80.2.192.179 (talk) 13:55, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not sure how to work this wikipedia thing but here goes. Clearly the guy who was writing before never done some hard travellin. Clearly he (or she) doesn't understand what Woody was actually trying to portray to the ordinary working class man (or woman). The book gives a very brief glance at his personal life, even though he is obviously the central character. The purpose of the book however is to inspire the reader to be inspired. The purpose is to inspire the reader to live life to the fullest. To travel every open road, to meet new people, to learn to love, to learn to be inspired by the world around them and to believe that anything is possible, and that this land that you live in belongs to you. I would encourage everyone both young and old to read this book. It has enriched my life as I now find myself doin some hard travellin. If you love poetry, honesty and freedom of spirt then this book is for you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shanedo19 (talkcontribs) 06:46, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
