Austro-Hungarian Monarchy edit

Austro-Hungarian Kingdom (Monarchy) didn't exist when borovička first appeared according to article. Liptov (County of Liptov) was a part of the Habsburg Monarchy. I shall change it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.102.224.187 (talk) 17:55, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Not flavoured edit

Borovička is produced from junipers. Original produced, junipers are fermented and destilled! This is the main difference from gin. It´s national drink in Slovakia, here are bevereges from fruits not from wheat; borovička (original from historic age only in Slovakia, it has international trademark, not Morava not Czech), slivovica (Slovakia, Morava, not Czech), medovina (mead) and wines (Tokaj, Lipovina). This is especially for Slovakia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.26.167.42 (talkcontribs) 20:11, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

According to this Slovakian source, neutral spirits are flavoured with juniper distillate when making borovicka. Also, EU regulations do not categorize the geographical indicators of borovička as juniper spirits (i.e. fruit spirits that include juniper spirits), but as "Juniper-flavoured spirit drinks". – Phoney (talk) 16:03, 7 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Popular in Poland edit

I don't know what are the guidelines for sourcing a claim like this. However, anecdotally, it seems entirely false that this beverage is popular in Poland.
