From the staff of the Walters Boone County Historical Museum and the Boone County Historical Society.... While we are delighted that someone (and we are unaware of this person or persons identity) has chosen to create a Wiki entry for our museum, we do wish to point out a few factual errors. We hope that the editor(s) make these corrections. Additionally, it is our hope that the entry be edited to be read as a more objective piece and not, in any way, appear to be an advertisement. This initial entry has not been authored by any person directly affiliated with our non-profit organization.

With regard to our desired edits, the current information about the Blind Boone Piano is not entirely factual. The piano did not "belong here for decades...hardly playable..and continued to deteriorate..." The history of the piano is much more complicated and at no time did it reside with us while it "continued to deterioate". In fact, volunteers with our organization planned and executed a $20,000 refurbishment in 2007. However, the piano was for the last 40 years in fair condition, but not "hardly playable." That statement is both unfair to the historical society and not factual.

Elsewhere, the entry mentions Slater Lenoir but misspells his name as 'Slate'. There are also several spelling errors elsewhere in the entry.

Persons of Note Edit

User:Lopifalko I don't agree with the edit to remove Jon Luvelli from "Persons of Note" as the source below provides adequate material to support the Exectutive Director of the museum sought and requested Luvelli's work to join the museum's collection; as desired works represented an important time period in the counties history.

• Chris Campbell, executive director of the museum, contacted Luvelli to inquire about the pictures. "I wanted to display these photos as a reminder to our visitors and guests that history isn't always old," Campbell said. "Sometimes it is made in the weeks and months immediately prior."

What does "Persons of Note" mean? Luvelli does not appear to be a notable person, but if he is then where are the sources to show that? I believe what you describe is amply covered by listing Luvelli's work in the Collections section, why also list Luvelli-the-person in the Persons of Note section. --Lopifalko (talk) 12:35, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Notable person's within the museum's collection. I can see how it would be repetive to feature in both lists. Maybe it would be best to remove "Persons of Note" section and add those individuals to the "Collections" section? --MarPatton (talk) 12:47, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
