POV edit

I've added a pov tag to this article because it does not seem to attempt a neutral point of view. Gobonobo T C 10:28, 26 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

You have to say WHY exactly. Otherwise it will be deleted. 69.116.234.208 02:12, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've readded the POV tag. The article lacks citation on many claims (overstaffing, corrupt, lack of profitability) and some of the citation present is also not public-viewable (registration required for the Economist). Please provide citation or remove the claims before removing the POV tag. --Makuro (talk) 21:47, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

As a note, the Economist certainly is publicly viewable; just go to a library. —Bkell (talk) 06:01, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I worked on the article. Anyone still have complaints about POV? --BoogaLouie (talk) 02:11, 23 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

this article is great, as I read through the paragraph, i think the author do not need to cite anything. If there are such organization in Iran and functions as the article says, then its not too hard to imagine what is the current status of such foolish "bonyads". It will be overstaffed for sure, corrupted for sure and certainly lack of profitability. I am from china and I know what the so called "national firms" are doing, they are essentially using political power given by the government to make profit, how they make profit? well its simple and transparent, first, they set up some fees, second they order the public to pay the fees! most of the charges are avoidable if there are market competition but hell not, they have used the political power to avoid competition so they can make Monopoly profit, like Mr Rockfeller did.

Now, I think the situation in Iran are probably worth than my country, because these Iranian organization, from what the article said, are controlled by the religious leaders and are exempt from taxes and government control such as annual audits, well in my country, the national firms are run by professionals, paying taxes and is being audited by both government and Accounting firms regularly. this will result in different efficiency, may be this is the reason that Chinese economy are performing better than Iran. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 221.222.13.118 (talk) 15:54, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Title edit

The term is not correct: Bonyad is just a non-profit foundation; these charitable trusts is called Bonyadiye Dowlati (بنیادی دولتی). PS: You can change the title or not, it's up to you; but please don't discuss this topic with me, Persian is my mother tongue. MiNeum71 (talk) 09:26, 18 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Figures for income and assets

There seems to be a serious discrepancy between estimated assets listed for the various bonyads and the respective income figures. The Astan Quds Razavi (Shrine of Imam Reza foundation) is listed with $15 billion in assets, but is said in the linked article to have over $200 billion of annual income. Could it be that the asset figures mean trillions instead of billions? (based on the confusion between European and US terminology, European "billion" = US "trillion") — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.237.114.196 (talk) 16:52, 7 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Incomplete edit

This is unbelievably one sided and there are almost no Iranian sources. The introduction is also a joke, it doesn’t even define what a “Bonyad” is specifically, as a “charitable trust” is also considered a Waqf which a Bonyad is not. 2001:1970:5163:1200:0:0:0:E661 (talk) 21:00, 23 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
