Found as modern-day tool? edit

It seems strange to say that they are "found as a modern-day tool" at a prehistoric site. Are the archaeologists there using them to excavate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.236.138.3 (talk) 17:23, 19 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Avestrucera edit

Regarding the "avestrucera o something-or-other" thingie: "o" is Spanish for "or." Does anyone know whether those are two separate names?204.95.23.122 06:17, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're right, it looked like a translation mistake. The names suggest they are used to hunt avestruces or ñandúes, two names for the same bird. 201.213.113.115 (talk) 19:27, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bolas used in music edit

Bolas, or "Boleadoras", were used by in a beautiful, rhythmic dance by two very beautiful performers in the Cirque Du Soleil show "Saltimbanco". More information about the show can be found at:

http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/CirqueDuSoleil/en/showstickets/saltimbanco/acts/boleadoras.htm

I am very surprised that Dube (www.dube.com) doesn't sell Bolas, because anyone that enjoys percussion and dancing would surely be delighted in learning how to manipulate Bolas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ridge-meister (talkcontribs) 03:22, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Supposed great inventor edit

Who exactly is this 'great inventor Sahin Tecelli'? Google search returns some random Turkish guys. ~Mrmotinjo — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.101.78.76 (talk) 13:02, 20 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

It's most likely a random name or the IP editor's name. A look at the history shows that a random IP editor "vandalized" the page by adding that little detail, which is most definitely not true (not to mention completely unsourced). I thought it was quite weird that the supposedly "great inventor" had no article himself (and I was going to start an article on him), but a quick Google search confirmed that this was just a drive-by vandalism act. Also since this was invented during the Stone Age in South America, there can not be any written records of the inventor's name (if he even had one). - M0rphzone (talk) 07:27, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

In popular culture edit

I don't think it's appropriate to list every single game, film, book and so on where bolas is depicted. We do not do it with other weapons, like swords or guns do we. Section "popular culture" should be about bolas depictions in popular culture, not a list of bolas depictions in popular culture. --Nomad (talk) 20:23, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
