Colors? edit

What do the colors mean on the bar graph? Light blue vs. dark blue vs. green? — MrDolomite • Talk 18:48, 9 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Green is for deliveries. I think the dark blue is for indicating the current year. -Fnlayson (talk) 18:55, 9 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

2017 SQ Order edit

Hello,

I have added 19 orders for the 787-10. These are firm orders and the source is the SQ press release - http://infopub.sgx.com/FileOpen/NE-0117.ashx?App=Announcement&FileID=438444

This is not a firm order, only a letter of intent to order. When / if the order is firmed, it will appear in the monthly Orders & Deliveries summary published by Boeing and used as the source for this article. Thanks. SempreVolando (talk) 05:17, 10 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Historical net annual orders edit

Boeing has two ways of accounting for annual net orders, by subtracting cancelled orders when they are cancelled, or by going back and removing those orders from the order year. Their primary display switched to the latter a couple of months ago, and the totals in this template were adjusted accordingly. However, this representation has two problems. First, it distorts the historical record, not showing demand at the time but subject to the flukes of later decisions. Secondly, it makes it much more work to update, because in any month the number of net orders from years before might change, and hence every year's number has to be confirmed with every monthly updated. To avoid the need for this, and better represent that situation at the time, I have switched back to the net-in-year numbers that do not change after the end of each year, also found at the cited source (and added a hidden note so editors know where to look).
