Unreferenced edit

Currently this article lacks good sources. This is too bad, he's known for saying things like "Target will get into food over my dead body" and later coming up with this thing called SuperTarget. A good place to look for references is findarticles.com (has massive historical archive of Discount Store News magazine). [1] can also be cited from. Tuxide 01:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Advertisment tag edit

This article was just tagged with {{advertisement}}. After looking at the article, it doesn't read like an advertisement to me, but I'm leaving the tag to allow discussion. The article seems to be appropriately factual and referenced. Mike Dillon 17:54, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Which is one of the problems with tagging being possible before any discussion has taken place. WP:FAITH tells me that User:Sfphotocraft must have some concerns about the article, but since I can't divine them, I'm going to leave a message on that user's talk page asking them to please discuss their issues here. Perhaps it's because this article previously (since early 2005) was at Robert Ulrich, and so this looks new and shiny? Sfphotocraft did mark it as spam, for speedy deletion, for a moment, but then took that back... I'm removing the tag until there's some explanation of what User:Sfphotocraft wants changed, since this isn't much different in tone or texture from Steve Jobs, for example, I can't figure out what to blatantly rewrite at the moment. Most of writing was taken from the Annual Report. It all is pretty much spin and hype for Target. As with any CEO there are good points and bad - this sounds like it was written by the PR Department at Target. (This is an unsigned comment which appears to have been added by User:Sfphotocraft 22:09, 9 December 2006.)

As User:Tuxide notes below, the article was not taken from any annual report, it is written based on facts found in the Reference for Business article that was previously mentioned at the old article. Please remember to assume good faith. You've previously categorised this article as both WP:SPAM and non-WP:NPOV. Please let me know if there's any particular language in the article that you feel is too fluffy or that "sounds like it was written by the PR Department at Target." Do you simply mean well-written? If so, thanks for the compliment.  :) Justen 09:07, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I believe it is a refactored version of [2] so I do not yet challenge whether it reads like an advertisement, or if it's written by someone who works for the corporate office. The fair use image could most certainly be replaced. Assuming this came from Minneapolis, it wouldn't make sense if they know the guy why they wouldn't give us a free one to use. You're correct. The article was based on that Reference for Business article. I do not, and have never worked at Target. I did recently purchase some things there, though, and find the company to be interesting, hence my work on this article. I would welcome a replacement to the unusual-looking fair use image, but it was the best I could find at the time. Justen 09:07, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
