Removal of POV and OR interpretation edit
I have just removed a paragraph which was added to the article based on a Daily Mail story from 27 Nov 2006 (see it here). While it is probably all right to refer to this issue here, the way in which it was done was biased and involved an interpretation of the Mail source that can only be described as original research, and not very accurate original research at that. Among several examples of misrepresentation are:
- "the proven fact that a far higher proportion of the UK's black residents are dealt with by the criminal justice system than are whites" (not in source)
- "because a far higher proportion of blacks are criminals in comparison to whites" (not in source)
- "He stated that in order to tackle crime effectively, the authorities need to accept the truth about the demographics of the active criminal population." (not in source) (He actually said "The main parties have to address where the crime is coming from..."
- "This was in line with speeches on the subject of mugging that were given by Sir Paul Condon in 1995, and by Sir Ian Blair in 2002" (not in source)
Incidentally, the source does say that he "refused to confirm or deny the contents of the emails" and that "he 'deplored' racism", quoting him directly as "I completely deplore racism of any kind." Emeraude (talk) 21:50, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
In UKIP or not? edit
I dont know whether this has come about because of the lack of a whip or whether he has left the party, or if he never joined it...
http://iaindale.blogspot.com/2009/04/has-bob-spink-left-ukip.html --LeedsKing (talk) 13:46, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Bob Spink now claims that he was never a member of UKIP: [1].
- He was redesignated as an independent MP in November, claiming that "I remain an enthusiastic UKIP member and supporter, but UKIP have never had a whip at Westminster and I have been acting, effectively, as an Independent in the house... In short, I remain 'UKIP's MP', but I am independent of any Party Political Whip, as I have stressed many times." This was announced on UKIP's website [5].
Why he left UKIP edit
7th Nov 2012 - removed a null reference to the ukip.org website with regards the issue of the whip. Need a reliable news source stating why he stood down 31.51.182.78 (talk) 16:27, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
Occupation edit
It says his occupation is Member of Parliament but he lost his seat in 2010. Please rectify. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.34.194.253 (talk) 13:00, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
