Hi, I'm new here, and still learning the lay-of-the-land as it were, but feel that much of the text included in the Perth section of this page is un-noteworth and written very much like a 'review'. As such, it may need to be revised to fit the Wikipedia style guide etc. Any comments?

I've just done a major revision, removing any reference to specific rules and generalising the two general types of race: one-direction and up-and-back. No campus-specific rules should be included on this page. Aspirex 06:32, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

1-on-1 Boat Races

A recent edit to this page described 1-on-1 skol-offs being described as Boat Races in a certain university. In my experience, Boat Racing is specifically between teams of usually at least three or four, and one-one-one skolling is completely separate.

If anybody can provide references to this sort of drinking being described as "boat racing" in more than just one region, then the article should be redesigned into two sections entitled "Team vs Team Boat Racing" and "One vs One Boat Racing." Otherwise, no reference should be made to this one-on-one style. Aspirex 09:43, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Unsourced material

Hi, I boldly removed a large amount of unsourced material, (The diff is here [1]) and Aspirex has restored it asking for a discussion here. Well let's have a discussion - but not about whether unsourced material belongs in Wikipedia. In an article of this kind it is especially important to source material since so many variations of the "rules" exist. For example - in my experience boat racing is a trial of strength akin to a tug of war played in the context of drinking. Totally different to what is in the article. But, I can't source this - so it doesn't belong in the article. Neither does the other detailed but unsourced information given in the article - take the section "basic rules" for example. No sources. None. So - let's have some sourced material back in the article, and we can discuss here how we handle the variety of sourced material.
