Fake album discussion

Has anyone seen the "Lavender Trapezoids" album? I found it on soulseek. I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere. It's most likely not them, but I'm not sure. SamWhite 19:08, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

It's fake, mon. Pimlottc 15:07, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Wait, so why isn't A few Old tunes vol. 1 and 2 under the official disc og. here on wiki?
That page is not official in any way, it's just a well-known fan-run site. Old Tunes were never officially released and have never been listed in any official discography whatsoever (in contrast with the other pre-Twoism works included here, i.e. Closes v1, Acid Memories, Cat 3, Play By Numbers) Pimlottc 05:09, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Other stuff

These guys are just freakin' awesome when it comes to new music for me to listen to. A+ --Cyberman 00:46, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

The Peel Session was not only released on CD as mentioned, but also on 12" vinyl.

This page seems to be a bit of a mess at the moment. I personally think that there should be a seperate section devoted to all the "hidden" material and samples / references, rather than on the main page. Anyone agree?

Needs a re-write *very* badly by someone who doesn't go on for 8 pages of worshipful prose. Concise, Neutral, and to the point please.

I agree -- I came in here to say the same thing. As an objective reader, this article doesn't appear professional, least of all neutral and concise (as you put it). I just don't know where to begin. 72.0.105.3 05:45, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

I don't know why, but this page is constantly being filled with utterly irrelevant and biased information. Is anyone else watching this page? Magic Window 14:00, Apr 17, 2005 (UTC)

Yes, I am. Unfortunately I have not made time to rewrite the article or at least make a few alterations. We can keep watch, anyway... I may put some more time in eventually. :-) Matthew McVickar 01:55, Apr 19, 2005 (UTC)
"Their sound has frequently been described as curiously nostalgic" ~ very perculiar, I feel this too? Nick Boulevard 00:04, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

Campfire Headphase

I think it's time this album is discussed, as this extremely eagerly awaited album possibly has leaked and the BoC-community has split again - mystique-lovers that find themselves robbed of speculation opportunities and people who really like the new album. I made a small, unfinished stub to start with. Mental max 13:34, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

Influence of BoC outside music

A link to a book inspired by BoC, see chp 14 in particular: http://www.geocities.com/kevinbonbevan/Contents.htm

Interviews - broken links

the fallowing led to broken links, I removed them from the article until rearrangement:

As someone else already noticed, the interviews were all moved to a single page: http://fredd-e.narfum.org/boc/interviews/ Pimlottc 19:56, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Chris Horne

I reverted two edits by 81.178.202.34 deleting mentions of Chris Horne.

Horne should be included, as he

  • was credited on the original Twoism release
  • was listed as a member in an official bio

While I am aware that there has been speculation regarding the actual nature and substance of his contributions to the band, I know of no evidence that he was not a proper member. Even if is provable that he was not a full member, he probably shouldn't be completely excized from this article, as his connection to BoC is well-known. For example, see his mention in the article on Twoism. Pimlottc 19:51, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

"very good project" linkspam

Any ideas on why we keep getting this spam here? I don't see it on any other articles on my watchlist. Is it really just this article or are there some other ones getting this particular spam too? Pimlottc 13:05, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Names

I know that we now know that Mike and Marcus brothers, but I have never seen an official source list Marcus's name as "Marcus Eoin Sandison". He's been consistently credited as "Marcus Eoin" on all Boards of Canada releases, including Trans Canada Highway which was released well after their kinship was revealed. It is clear that he has chosen "Marcus Eoin" as his professional name and we should respect that. Pimlottc 14:00, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Your argument is compelling. I'm sorry I didn't notice this before I made the edit. Angular 03:13, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Very good argument, fully agree. Gropo 16:08, 07 December 2006

A Few Old Tunes

Dug up this [1] (Mirror) A Few Old Tunes Vol. 2 tracklisting (files used to be there, but I suspect the webmaster got a cease and desist) up on google, maybe it can be incorporated into the article somehow?

BoC rule, - Nö†$®åM 01:02, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Also a few images which may confirm the existance of the "A Few Old Tunes volume 2". Of course, this could be a hoax/user created album artwork. Found on the same webpage was an alternate "A Few Old Tunes Vol. 2" tracklisting, as well as an "A Few Old Tunes Vol. 1" tracklisting, and some artwork as well as a tracklisting for (supposedly) "A Few Old Tunes" (the original volume, I suppose). Can anything be done with this material? - Nö†$®åM 01:56, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes, Fredd-E's page is a reliable information for BoC information; at least, as much information as the public has been able to find out. I don't think there's any reason to go so far as to include a track listing in the main article; they could go in an article for that tape, perhaps, but I'm not sure that it would be considered significant enough to the world at large to be worth its own page on Wikipedia. We can also just link to Fredd-E's fine pages for more details on the "Old Tunes" tapes. Pimlottc 19:01, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Heh, sorry about teh goatse; I forgot that (technically) that is considered hotlinking, but yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of a seperate article for the "A Few Old Tunes" collections. I suppose I misspoke (if you will) earlier. :-) Nö†$®åM 01:18, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
