Original Research
editThis page contains original research which is banned on Wikipedia. Valid sources are needed to verify that a blue flag stands for capitalism, rather than assumptions and a discussion on some internet blog forum about capitalism which is hardly considered valid.--R-41 18:10, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- This is a really bad article. No cites, sweeping & unverified claims and an image that has no background information to it all. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:52, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- This article is an excellent example of orignial research. It's been tagged for months and no sources have surfaced. A quick Google around the web has made me pretty confident that no sources will ever surface. I'm reverting the article to its original form: a redirect to Blue flag beach. Political Colors in the USA
edit"Although never officially recognized by any capitalist countries, the blue flag and the color blue has generally been accepted by most right-wingers: with the notable exception of those in the United States, where the opposite colors are used for left and right"
I find this whole quote to be taken far out of hand. The whole "red state/blue state" idea stems entirely from media coverage of the 2000 and 2004 presidential races. It was not the result of the "right wing" in the US accepting it as their color. Besides which, both the Democrat and Republican Parties in the US are openly capitalist. Both parties use red and blue abundantly (and also white) since those are the US national colors. Blue is almost never associated with those solidly on the "left", who are more likely to be associated with colors like red, black, or green. I don't have a solid source for this so I won't edit it myself though. (Note-Really, the only place I can think of that people can really associate the color "red" with capitalism is the so-called "Red China")--KobaVanDerLubbe (talk) 02:12, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- In Australia Red China and Communist China are synonyms, so I found the claim that people can really associate the color "red" with capitalism there quite startling. Evidence? Andrewa (talk) 18:33, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
Blue is for Socialism, Red is for Communism, and Green is for Capitalism.
editI should point out to attention that since Capitalism is all about money and nothing else, the Green Flag would be the flag of Capitalism, and since Socialism is about distribution of wealth to the poor and religious values, the Blue Flag would be the flag of Socialism, and since Communism would be about atheism and state collectivization, the Red Flag would be the flag of the Communism, now wouldn't all of you agree? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexandergungnahov (talk • contribs) 11:26, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- No, I would not. The Socialists in my country certainly do not stand for religious values —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.234.184.44 (talk) 05:49, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- No, you should not even point that out here. See wp:soap.
- Whatever your opinion, in practice that is a long way from being a general rule, if it applies at all (which you don't even claim let alone justify). In Australia for example, blue is strongly associated with the Liberal Party of Australia, who despite the name are regarded here as right of centre, and the closest thing we have to a capitalist-leaning major party. France, the USA and Russia also have strong traditions that depart from that code, but in those cases it's a lighter blue. Andrewa (talk) 18:27, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
Motor racing
editThe only mention of motor racing is currently
- Blue flag, a particular Racing flags#Blue flag
which is inadequate IMO, as there are several important uses of a blue flag in motor racing that are not covered in that section of the article.
Not sure how best to fix this. Andrewa (talk) 18:39, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
