Have the original designs for the initial proposed uniforms survived? If so where are they now? Please answer —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.107.201.7 (talk) 17:24, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

At the present time the Army Historical Section, National Museum of Ireland (Collins Barracks) does not have nor know the whereabouts of the original design drawings or the original uniform prototype. Pconlon 11:09, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Question on Landau

edit

How did Queen Alexandra's Landau get to Dublin and where is it now? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.107.201.7 (talk) 17:29, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Motorbikes

edit

Japanese motorcycles - in Ireland - in 1948?? Honda Motor Co. was only established in 1948, the others were established around that time, or later, and concentrated exclusively on the domestic market for some years. Exports to Europe did not even begin until the late 1950s. The Defence Forces and Garda used British motorcycles (BSA and Triumph) until the 1970s. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.147.141.143 (talk) 21:04, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not 2nd Cavalry

edit

The description text with the bottom image in the current article refers to the '2nd Cavalry Squadron of the Blue Hussars' - this is incorrect and misleading. The 2nd Cavalry is a separate unit that took over the Presidential Escort role after the Blue Hussars were disbanded and still provides the Presidential Escort today (on motorcycles). Caption corrected by deletion of reference to "2nd Cavalry Squadron". Buistr (talk) 22:26, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
