editOne of the statements from irretrievable LA Times articles (archived) and repeated in dozens, if not hundreds of places, suggest that an 8-year old girl tried to commit suicide. Nearly all pre-adolescents who have been molested have bad mental experiences throughout life. The statement does not say that the girl tried to commit suicide at the time, nor is there any way of finding that out. Only one statement, second-hand, from a lawyer. The section seems a bit overwrought IMO. It should read a little less pov and more objectively. There is plenty of objective material without quoting second hand remarks. No way of proving this second-hand remark anyway. Not a court opinion. Student7 (talk) 21:39, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- The LA Times article is not irretrievable. It's accessible through the LA Public Library site with a library card for free, or it's accessible for a fee through ProQuest. That said, I think the edit you made is fine and also would not object to the sentence that you proposed removing. Father Falvey was a big story in 2007, but the section was probably a bit much in an overall history of Blessed Sacrament. Cbl62 (talk) 22:54, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
