Chart Position

edit

Is there any real citation for "Black Cat" charting #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart? It's not recorded on either Billboard.com or ALLMUSIC.com nor is it logged on the wikipedia list of #1 Mainstream Rock songs, NOR is Janet Jackson logged as an artist who even reached #1 on the Mainstream Rock tracks. It makes me question if she even DID reach #1 on that chart. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.136.10.51 (talkcontribs) 2007-06-01t09:15:07z

Nuno Bettencourt

edit

I thought Nuno Bettencourt was the primary guitarist on this song. http://hiphop.discogs.com/release/849743 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.25.8.1 (talkcontribs) 2007-08-02t02:53:48z

Blackcatvideo.png - problems with non-free rationale

edit

File:Blackcatvideo.png

This image is not specifically discussed in the article. It is supposed to show a controversial skin-tight outfit (as if Jackson is the first to wear one.) The image is fuzzy and indistinct; it shows nothing controversial at all. It fails in its mission. Binksternet (talk) 07:08, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

New image was added, perhaps that one's better? It's referring mainly to the lower portion of the outfit. User5482 (talk) 08:41, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Her butt, you mean. Binksternet (talk) 14:54, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's what the references focused on regarding the outfit. But maybe it would work better using the previous image and having a caption related to it being filmed on tour, since it consists of tour footage. User5482 (talk) 16:40, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fan reception?

edit

Obviously this song received mainstream acceptance but since this is an attempted crossover of a black pop artist into hard rock/metal, it's worth noting what the general reception was among both metal and hip hop fans. Was it well-liked overall? Did she receive any criticism from either side, for instance did any metal press see it as "pandering" or did any hip-hop press see it as "selling out"? I feel this is an angle that should be addressed as having a #1 Billboard single says nothing in itself of what hardcore fans of either genre thought of this . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.186.123.97 (talk) 04:54, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Black Cat on the Billboard rock chart

edit

On the link that supposedly had Black Cat peaking at number nine on the "top 40" rock chart, I don't see it at all. I checked the rock chart page, "Black Cat" is nowhere listed so I like to know how Janet Jackson editors came to the conclusion that the song made the chart when it didn't? It's weird. Please comment below because I'm in the process of deleting that from the chart section. 03:08, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
