In a lion park edit

for some reason, @Elmidae: can you shed some light on this? ~ cygnis insignis 04:09, 26 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

What's the specific issue? I don't think we necessary need any caption at all, but I think we can agree that having the pure species name as caption is the least useful option - it will only duplicate the title of the box, directly above. Some additional information, like the location of the image, seems preferable. Or something like "Male plumage"? Wide range of usages across species articles, even within genera - e.g. looking at the Buteos, most have no caption, some have location, some have gender or subspecies or behaviour. Whatever suits. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 16:30, 26 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
The bird is an Australian endemic, the caption says it is in a South African lion park. It is not impossible, but like the ip I doubt it is. ~ cygnis insignis 17:38, 26 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Tswalu Lodge has a huge aviary (Oppenheimer extravagance), so I assumed that's were it comes from. However, the uploader seems to be solidly Australian-based and none of their other images are from Africa, so that assumption is probably rubbish. Benjamint444, can you verify? --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 18:10, 26 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Elmidae: I'd never heard of Tswalu Lodge, so checked it out, sounds fantastic. Cheers ~ cygnis insignis 06:51, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
