Nov. 17th rewrite edit

I may have misinterpreted certain details in this rewrite, due to my unfamiliarity with the language, culture and geography in this article. If so, please accept my apology, it was not my intent to misinform anyone, and feel free to correct my mistakes, or to leave me a message telling me where I erred and, if you provide the correct information, I will make the corrections.

The section named "Birote Kalan and Khurd" originally (and still does) left two questions un-answered:

  • What is Birote Kalan, as opposed to simply "Birote"? and
  • What is "Khurd"?

It would help all readers if these items were clarified.

It should also be noted that this article does not cite any acceptable sources to verify the information. Any additions in this aspect would enhance this article's seriousness. JAXHERE | Prevaricate at me 13:07, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Khurd = Small
Kalan = Big

Copyedit notes edit

Hi! I am with the WP:LoCE and am giving your article a copyedit. I've done some major restructuring to the first half of the article, but all of the original information is still in the text. Some information I found questionable I've enclosed in hidden comments, preceded by COPYEDITOR'S NOTE. I've also included explanations of edits and questions/concerns in additional notes. Also, this article need sources desperately. Galena11 21:09, 25 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Finished axing edit

Sorry when I went too far and axed something useful. But there was so much puffery and self promo added by a sock-puppeteer that I had to be rough. The rather tragic English did not make it more easy. Unfortunately, 93% of the article is gone now... The Banner talk 21:44, 28 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

You did good. There even was a proposal at the AfD to stub the article and start again. Michaelzeng7 (talk) 21:06, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
It did not make me happy. The load of self promo was disgusting and my spelling checker started crying... The Banner talk 22:43, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello Wikipedia edit

Hi. I wonder why did you deleted the content of this page. This page was wonderfully written. Someone, i don't know who had got this beautiful idea of writing about this beautiful village birote. I request to restore the content of this page. and don't delete it. i will help the user who created this page in refining it. but i can't that informative content myself. kindly restore the content of this page. I will also try to refine it. — Preceding comment added by Candicell (talkcontribs) 19:19, 2 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

In fact, what I have removed was mainly puffery, nonsense, unsourced info, unreliable sourced info and gibberish. The article still has a lot of request for sources. It would be nice when you could add reliable sources for those requests (or place them here, so I can add them if preferred). Sources in English are preferred, but other languages (and scripts) are also allowed. The Banner talk 19:48, 2 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reply edit

Thank you for your reply. Birote is not a very famous village and lot of references is not an easy thing to find. I have read that article couple of months ago. A lot of information was there, which present in only local literature and nothing on the web, wikipedia was the first website where i found that and it felt very good. I knew many thing about this village that i won't know before and i know all of them are true because i had discussed them with my elder and showed them that someone had written about the history of birote. When i visited again couple of days ago, article wasn't there and that was very surprising. Wikipedia had deleted the valuable source of information aboutBirote. I accept that some points were not appropriate for you. But the page was deleted without warning (i think). So I didn't have a chance to review it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 182.188.135.109 (talk) 23:18, 8 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
I know it is shocking, but someone was just adding nonsense. But the rules are clear: unsourced information can be removed straight away. The Banner talk 17:03, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
