Please note I have an editor for this journal so will not edit the article. I would like to suggest the following additional information might be useful for someone else to add to the article:

The journal was formerly known as Computer Applications in the Bio sciences and was first published in 1985. In 1998 the journal was renamed as Bioinformatics.

Please could someone amend the senior editors from Alex Bateman and Alfonso Valencia to Janet Kelso and Alfonso Valencia? I stepped down at the end of 2012.
