Picture edit

This page should have a picture of him without the Phantom-mask covering his face. Does anyone have any appropriate choices? KIT WALKER (November 06)

This page really needs a picture that actually shows what he looks like. MacMoney 18:21, 16 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, this picture needs a better picture of him, now that the one from titanic was deleted

WHY was the picture deleted? The guy who posted it was the one who took it.

No ethnicity in header edit

Is this a hard and fast rule? Because I see it in MANY, MANY other person pages on WP. If there are no outstanding objections, I'm putting it back as it's been on the page for a while in one form or another. ka1iban 14:05, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yup, hard and fast rule, per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies) - "Nationality (In the normal case this will mean the country of which the person is a citizen or national, or was a citizen when the person became notable. Ethnicity should generally not be emphasized in the opening unless it is relevant to the subject's notability.)". If you see any ethnicity in header, take it out (unless the person was born elsewhere, in that case I don't know, I guess it's up for debate). Not to mention that I'm not sure what a "Greek American actor" is. :) Also, why did you link to ignore all rules? I see exactly zero improvement in Wikipedia's quality if ethnicity is again allowed into the header. Mad Jack 06:15, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Deleted the image I posted of billy as the Phantom. One picture should be plenty for a page about an actor. Kit Walker

Friendships edit

This isn't relevant, and is not even trivia, unless it has some context or profundity to the actor's life. For that, you should provide a reference. This is a candidate for removal from the entry. Regardless, just listing Hollywood friendships can quickly get out of hand (how to prove it? How to keep up with the seemingly daily falling outs and "best friends" of the entertainment industry). --DavidShankBone 22:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Quotes edit

Some of these are also on watch to be deleted. They aren't particularly profound or even witty. Who cares if he would have attempted to be a silent actor? They also need citations. --DavidShankBone 17:25, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

YouTube links edit

This article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message here, on this talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material that violates someones copyright. If you are not sure if the link on this article should be removed or you would like to help spread this message contact us on this page. Thanks, ---J.S (t|c) 04:59, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Phantomzane2.jpg edit

Image:Phantomzane2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:16, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Original Surname edit

Wanted to mention that in this article, the original surname listed is "Zanetakos," but in the article for Lisa Zane the original surname listed is, "Zanikopolous" and there is a discrepancy with is/was usage between the two. Any thoughts on which should be used? (Also got rid of some spam junk here at the bottom.) Garonyldas (talk) 10:39, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have seen in a TV documentary series about the Greek-Americans that both Lisa and Billy talk about their relatives from Sparta and their family name ZANETAKOS (In fact Billy says something like "I think it was either Zanetakos or Zanetopoulos"), you may find them in Youtube under the Greek-Americans label, and they are split in 20 vids.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr3AwHuQF9Y). Unfortunately we cannot use them as sources for WP. As there are many sites that sate it is Zanikopolous this is the way it is written down in this article, but it is in fact is an insult to Greeks, since it is the way anglos mis-name all Greek family names using the wrong patronimic polous. Anyway, if true, the correct in that case should be ZANIKOPOULOS. The patronymic "OPOULOS", means "son of" and is widely spread throughout all Greece. But ZANETAKOS seems the right one since they hail from Laconia.Periptero (talk) 00:30, 20 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
You're right, it's "Zanetakos". No one named "Zanikopolous" has ever lived in the United States. On the other hand, the Chicago Marriage Records show Thalia and William Zanetakos marrying in 1953, and there were plenty of "Zanetakos" around Illinois and Chicago. This 1990 Chicago Sun-Times article about Lisa Zane mentions an aunt named Pauline Zanetakos, which sounds like a good enough source to change it. Why is it Zanikopoulos again in the article?! — 188.162.65.21 (talk) 20:48, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Personal edit

The stuff about "Anne Marie Warchol" in the personal section - says she's a model and "started" on Dancing with the Stars. I can't find anything about her, other than stuff that originated from this Wiki article. 75.134.18.16 (talk) 05:53, 23 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
