Discography article edit

I agree that the discography now needs to be split into its own new article. It is certainly substantial enough to warrant this. Davidkt 16:07, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

There is probably some Wikipedia guideline/protocol/definite maybe/not too sure in place to determine this... but be bold is my preferred option here. My experience suggests that there are far less significant, stand-alone, discographies than this one.

Thanks, that's a great help. Except for the fact that this is an encyclopaedia, where accuracy, wherever possible, is rated quite highly. - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 23:10, 4 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

In the band member's part, Susie Davis should be included. She played keyboards in the band, but I can't find for how long. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.37.224.191 (talk) 17:25, 10 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Schools? edit

If he lived in Dorking and then Bromley, when did he go to Tideway school in Newhaven? ~dom Kaos~ (talk) 02:50, 13 February 2011 (UTC) My friend just told me abotu Billy going to my old School about the time my parents were there and they never mentioned it to me so i think it might be just someones bull. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.59.97.113 (talk) 12:44, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Crisis? edit

That section seems mis-named, since there's no crisis described in it. Arided (talk) 23:44, 14 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Crisis in section title (seconded) and likely mis-link in paragraph edit

I too was thrown by the mention of "crisis" but nothing seemed to merit the term. Also in that section, "Don't You (Forget about Me)" is attributed to Steve Schiff but this is done with a link to the United States politician, House Representative from Arizona. While this would be noteworthy, I suspect it is the wrong person. -- Dale 6/15/2012 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.251.194.23 (talk) 21:10, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Crisis in section title (thirded) edit

I was also confused by the section title of "Crisis and resurgence", but I don't know enough about Billy Idol to know if he did in fact have a crisis and subsequent resurgence. Hopefully someone with knowledge and sources could confirm or fix this. Ouizardus (talk) 18:52, 4 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rebel Yell and Superstars years edit

I have never heard that he appeared at Roger Waters The Wall concert in Berlin 1990, are you sure about this?

Brighton Polytechnic? edit

Surely that should be Sussex University (East Slope is a section of the University of Sussex campus, not Brighton Poly). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.241.229.204 (talk) 10:25, 27 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

filmography edit

Where's his filmography? I notice on the pages of music stars they usually list it on a separate wiki page, but can't seem to find his. Would a new page have to be created or do we just put a box on this one? --Stevehim (talk) 15:49, 11 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Missing info edit

In the section Whiplash Smile there is mention of a person called Lister that is written as though previous mentions have been made but, if they were, they have been removed. The section also has no citations. 86.139.160.211 (talk) 18:48, 3 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Why? edit

"In 1958, when Idol was two years old, his parents moved to Patchogue, on Long Island, New York, United States. The family returned to the UK four years later with Idol and a younger child Jane (who had been born in the United States), settling in Dorking, Surrey"

Why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.77.148.100 (talk) 03:19, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

First of all, you don't block someone when they first edit sources on the site. I am trying to make this only better. So don't mention me in a text, so everyone could see. Ok? This site has been wrong for the last 5 years. I got tired of all the invalid info, so I joined. Not trying to be mean. Ok?

Billy Idol a Baby Boomer, not Gen X edit

Removed reference to Idol as Gen X, since as someone born in 1955 he was clearly a baby boomer (1945-60) although he may have influenced Gen X youth culture and may have even coined the term.

Gen X is his band name, not the generation he belongs to. Cranberry Wood (talk) 13:32, 7 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

"whiskey and pills" and likeness 2022 edit

his likeness, or, i guess, himself (named as Billy Idol in the game) - appears in the German video game Elex 2 performing his song "Whiskey and Pills" at a festival. 73.38.115.144 (talk) 00:06, 13 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Anglican edit

Is there any proof that both Billy's parents were Anglicans? His mother was O'Sullivan from Cork in Ireland? MairiC (talk) 14:55, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
