The Fade Out Invention

edit

I just recently read Billy Bitzer's autobiography, and I believe I remember him saying that he did not actually invent the fade out, despite what he and Griffith may have said previously. I also remember him giving credit to George Melies instead, saying he had forgotten that Melies had done it first. I suppose I should just edit the page, but I am an extreme newcomer and decided I'd just leave it on the talk page first to maybe prompt someone else's further investigation.

Both Bitzer and Griffith claimed the invention of many techniques - particularly when they moved the the West Coast and were trying to raise funds. Griffith (or more likely his agent) claimed he invented the "close up" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.171.129.78 (talk) 22:37, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Apomixis

edit

The 2010 comedy short Apomixis imdb entry[1] lists him as a camera operator. ?--Auric (talk) 21:52, 10 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dates?

edit

I can't seem to alter the wrong entry, that he died on April 29, 1944, aged 70. He was 72. Valetude (talk) 22:56, 21 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
