Corrections
editI corrected the infobox but the text is too tangled for now. From Byrne's book:
Ireland v Italy 1926-03-21 Turin: team did not include Lacey (Cannon-Brady-McCarthy-Foley-Doyle-Connolly-Flood-Grace-Watters-Fullam-Fagan)
Lacey's 3 caps were
- Dublin 1927-04-23 Italy 'B'
- Liege 1928-02-12 Belgium 1 goal
- Brussels 1930-05-11 Belgium
note he did not play v BEL in Dublin on 1929-04-20.
The ages need to be amended accordingly, based on the given DOB.
- The Sean Ryan book contradicts above info. I think we need a third source to clarify the details before changing article. Djln--Djln 22:33, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- All books contain errors, including Byrne's and Ryan's. I've read Ryan but don't have a copy to hand, but it's all prose, whereas Byrne's lists the full lineout for every international from 1926 to 1996, so is less likely to confuse the first international with the first home international. As regards Lacey's age at the time of each match, I'm working with the DOB 1889-09-24 given in the article (I don't know the source for that) and the dates of the relevant internationals from Byrne. jnestorius(talk) 23:23, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Both the Liverpool sites included in external links give birthday as September 24 1889. So does Tony Matthews in the Everton book. However the Liverpool book, by the same author, gives December 12 1889. Either way the ages are still correct. I’ve amended the text to indicate the correct Italy game. Djln
According to the book 'Shelbourne FC Facts & Figures 1895/96-1995/96', Lacey played for Shels from 26/27-31/32. League appearances for his Shels career added accordingly. During that time Shels won two league titles and a shield.
