Expansion of article, (editor) instead of (writer)? edit

I want to thank whoever created this article, as I was the one who suggested it be created (or restored, as it was deleted several years ago for some reason.) Note: I am NOT in any way connected with Bill Fawcett, I have just seen his name pop up many times during my years as a science fiction reader, and I was wanting to find what works he'd co-written or edited.

The bare-bones article definitely needs expansion, first of all he is (was?) married to Jody Lynn Nye, and she made reference to that in the forward of one of the Myth Adventures novels she co-authored with Robert Asprin (or in the Myth Adventures novel she wrote herself after Asprin's death, I'm not sure.) Several bios mention this fact, however I have no clue as to their current relationship status.

Fawcett is the founder of Bill Fawcett and Associates, a book packager that has packaged over 350 books (although I'm not 100% sure what that entails): http://www.awfulagent.com/fawcett.html

Biographies I've read of Bill Fawcett mention that he is a co-founder of Mayfair Games, although the Wikipedia article doesn't mention him. Googling "Bill Fawcett" and "Mayfair Games" returns some 17,000 hits. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayfair_Games Reference to some games he designed: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgamedesigner/106/bill-fawcett

He is co-editor of The Fleet series of anthologies with David Drake. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Drake#Fleet.2FBattlestation

Extensive bio and lists of co-authored and edited books (and more:) http://www.kingmidasworldentertainment.com/bill-bio.pdf

Well, that was a couple of hours spent this morning. I just hope that someone can properly expand this article as is fitting a somewhat big name in the science-fiction world. I know nothing about editing Wikipedia, and after seeing the various requirements for notability, against original research, and other elements that make Wikipedia what it is, I'll leave all of this to someone who knows what they are doing. 68.97.202.205 (talk) 15:01, 22 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect information under "Editor" edit

First, it lists Crafter I (with Christopher Stasheff), the series is actually called The Crafters. Bill Fawcett was listed as co-editor on both books, with Christopher Stasheff (books I and II.) [http://www.amazon.com/Blessings-Curses-Crafters-2-various/dp/0441121314/ref=pd_sim_b_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=07TWS2QWA3WM9M86H39G Amazon link - The Crafters II]

Second, it shows Gods of War as being edited by Fawcett. That book is actually an anthology created by Christopher Stasheff, Fawcett isn't listed as editor. The copyright page shows copyright to Bill Fawcett and Associates (his book packager company.) Baen Ebooks - The Gods of War

Third, it lists Battlestation II (with Christopher Stasheff,) that anthology(along with volume I) was edited by David Drake and Bill Fawcett. Christopher Stasheff was one of the included authors, NOT the editor. [http://www.amazon.com/Battlestation-Book-Vanguard-David-Drake/dp/044186032X Amazon link - Battlestation Book II]

Fourth, the precursor series to Battlestation I and II isn't even listed: The Fleet (books 1-6) edited by David Drake and Bill Fawcett. [http://www.amazon.com/Fleet-1-6-Complete-Set/dp/B00ROBD81G/ref=sr_1_7?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1425813851&sr=1-7 Amazon link - The Fleet (books 1-6)]

The article's references for the first three links all point to the same item: Bill_Fawcett_(writer)#cite_note-kurtz-9 which points to what appears to be a bio for Katherine Kurtz. I don't have a subscription, and I can't see any reference to those books on the free portion.

There are many other works that Bill Fawcett has edited according to the ISFDB: http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/ea.cgi?Bill_Fawcett although at this point I'd at least like to see that the current information is accurate.98.162.209.39 (talk) 11:46, 8 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
