Only a short while back I thought about trying to write a bio page about Bill Bailey, which I started here: User:Kfor/WIP/Bill_Bailey

I didn't get very far; sources are hard to find. His autobiography, The Kid from Hoboken, is useful. I didn't read all of it though. There's a short bio available on Spartacus Educational's site, but it is very short indeed. I have links to more sources at around somewhere, I'll post them later. -87.198.172.26 13:51, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just a thought: there appears to be no mention of him in either the Spanish or Catalan wikipedia. -87.198.172.26 15:06, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Very difficult to find stuff online! There was a documentary filmed in 1983 called "The Good Fight", about US volunteers in the Spanish Civil War, and Bailey features. Anyone living in New York? If so, you have access to production materials for that documentary. Also, at the same location, The Marjorie Polon papers is a collection of correspondence between Polon and some volunteers, including Bailey, mostly during 1938. jstor.org seem to have some stuff online, but the interface is (intentionally?) painful. -Kfor 23:25, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Here's 2 book previews I got via google scholar: Madrid 1937: Letters of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade from the Spanish Civil War, and Comrades: Tales of a Brigadista in the Spanish Civil War. Haven't got time to go through them right now, but will tomorrow. -Kfor 00:03, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Probably this page should be deleted, for now.

There appears to be very little online about the man (apart from his autobiography, but we need at least one secondary source, no?), so until someone manages to either read/see the offline sources, or even put something online, then I guess this should go. -Kfor 20:45, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

It looks like there may be some stuff out there according to a quick Google News archive search. --A. B. (talk) 20:21, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,
