Soluble dietary fiber a natural and powerful bile acid sequestrant? edit

In his best-selling "The 8 week cholesterol cure" book, Kowalski asserts that soluble dietary fibers like the beta glucans in oats (there are many more) sequester bile acids and that this is the explanation for their beneficial effects on serum cholesterol levels.
