Uncited material in need of citations

I am moving the following uncited material here until it can be properly supported with inline citations of reliable, secondary sources, per WP:V, WP:CS, WP:IRS, WP:PSTS, WP:BLP, WP:NOR, et al. Although I am not moving information from the Dates and locations table here, this diff shows where all the removed material was in the article, so anyone wishing to restore this material can put it back in the right palce. History

Heyday

By 2008, the frequency of Big Apple conventions was slowing down, with just two shows: a "Summer Sizzler" and the usual three-day November National convention. The last show before Wizard's purchase of Big Apple was a June Summer Sizzler. 2009 was also the final year in which there were three or more iterations of the conventions held in the calendar year.

Acquisition by Wizard Entertainment

At this point the new manager, Spat Oktan, who had hosted costume contests at other conventions, took over the costume contest and Captain Zorikh was put in charge of the children's costume contest, while continuing in other capacities.

Wizard did not hold a New York convention in 2012,

New York Comic Book Marketplace

The 2014 and final NYCBM was held at the Hotel New Yorker on March 1 and featured extensive zombie programming, including the premiere screening of Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead Episode 10.
