Is Beverley Beach actually spelled Beverly Beach?
editThis may sound silly, but I would like to verify whether "Beverley Beach" includes an e before the y. I tried to verify some of the history (a hat tip to someone back in April 2012, but also a thrown hat at them for neglecting sources). I didn't get very far on that front, but it's a start, and it suggests at least some of the info is accurate. I noticed both sources I found (Chesapeake Quarterly and Vintage Vacationland) refer to the place as Beverly Beach. In addition, there is a Beverly Beach Community Association, which despite its spelling (no e before the y) includes the Wikipedia article and its mention of the e before the y.
It may be that the place can be spelled both ways. But the more formal way appears to be "Beverly". Through googling, I can find that spelling in articles of the 2 major newspapers representing the greater area -- the Washington Post and Baltimore Sun -- and do not see the spelling of "Beverley" mentioned in their articles.
