Links to useful information that just needs rewriting
editThis version of the article contains some useful information about Liano's history, including the sale of the "Bettina Liano" brand and the creation of the new "BYBL" brand, with references to support it. However much of that information is directly copied from the sources and/or very promotional in tone, which is why the article has been rolled back. It would be worth rewriting the article to include that information - in a neutral and non-copyright-violating manner. Mitch Ames (talk) 14:18, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
Repeated copyright violations
editI've reverted this edit, which is a direct copy of http://www.bybettinaliano.com/. Mitch Ames (talk) 11:52, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
@Acurl1991: I've no doubt that the article does need updating to reflect the current situation (and I've tagged it as such). You, I, or someone else may update the article in our own words and a neutral tone, using the references as sources, but copying the material from http://www.bybettinaliano.com/ is not allowed. Please see WP:COPYVIO. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:55, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
Aside from the copyright issue, http://www.bybettinaliano.com/ is clearly (and understandably) written in a promotional tone, which is not appropriate for an encyclopedia - see WP:PROMO. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:58, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
Bettina Liano
editHi @MitchAmes:, I re wrote this for Bettina. Which is a similar article of http://www.fashionmodeldirectory.com/designers/bettina-liano/. I don't see this as a copyright violation. It is stating the history of Australia iconic fashion designer Bettina Liano. Acurl1991 (talk) 13:04, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
- Removing two sentences and changing a few words does not change the fact that the bulk of the article was still a direct copy of http://www.bybettinaliano.com/, which is clearly marked © Actual People Pty Ltd. Copyright infringement is a serious problem and is simply not allowed. Again I urge you to read WP:COPYVIO. The only solution is to completely re-write the article, which is what I have now done. It still needs a bit of cleaning up, which I will get to in due course (if others don't beat me to it). There's probably some scope for adding to the Personal life section - I've left some hidden notes about that in the article.
- Feel free to correct any factual errors I may have made - but ensure that any facts are supported by the references. If you add material, please ensure that you do not just copy and paste it from a website. Also ensure that any additional material is neutral and not promotional. The article is not an advertisement for Bettina Liano or her business.

School
editAccording to the references, Liano attended a "Catholic boarding school" (at age 9, so this presumably was a primary school) and her final year was "at a well-to-do Brighton girls' school". Can anyone (Acurl1991 perhaps?) provide a reliable source stating which school(s)? In particular was the secondary school Star of the Sea College? Mitch Ames (talk) 13:03, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
