Infobox edit
The name Infobox should use the common name as the denominator in my view. I cannot see the guildline that says otherwise. In fact, the template used the example Brush mouse, which uses the common name. - Chris.sherlock (talk) 20:50, 5 January 2020 (UTC)

Betta akarensis → Akar betta – The common name is Akar betta so it would be better with this article name. Chris.sherlock (talk) 21:00, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- Based on Google hits, "Betta akarensis" gets 9.5k hits [1] while "Akar betta" gets ~2k [2]. That normally indicates that the common name is in less widepread use than the scientific name, and that the article should not be under that title. (BTW, got 13.5k vs 6.5k earlier today on another network - search bubbles be strange...) --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 02:04, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- oppose - The most often used term for the species is this instance is fairly clearly Betta akarensis, "common names" do not automatically supersede the binomial, and the binomial is more often used.--Kevmin § 03:02, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
