The result of the move request was: moved

The position hasn't changed since Jack Frost relisted. There is a clear consensus to move this page. There is no consensus as to whether Beto Avila should become a DAB page. (non-admin closure) Havelock Jones (talk) 13:15, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Roberto AvilaBeto Avila (soccer) – Player goes by this name professionally. Here are some sources to confirm: Source 1, Source 2, Source 3, Player's Twitter.

Beto Avila (and Beto Ávila) is currently a redirect to Bobby Ávila. Should it become a DAB page? RedPatch (talk) 22:53, 11 August 2021 (UTC) — Relisting. Jack Frost (talk) 04:28, 5 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Support the move but oppose the DAB page move. While I welcome arguments on the DAB, there seems to be a clear primary topic in terms of long term notability, with the baseball player a hall of fame athlete with a stadium named after him, and the soccer player a stub. In order to account for WP:RECENTISM due to recent news of the football player switching teams, I looked at page stats from early in the year -- while not overwhelming, the baseball player generally was receiving 70 to 80 percent, which alongside the discrepancy in long term notability makes a clear case for a WP:ONEOTHER situation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yaksar (talkcontribs) 06:52, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support the move of this page, but per Yaksar I'd say also leave the redirects Beto Ávila and Beto Avila alone, per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to the baseball player.  — Amakuru (talk) 01:51, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Relisting comment: There is clearly consensus that the page Roberto Avila should be moved to Beto Avila (soccer). However, there is not yet consensus in relation to whether Beto Avila should be turned into a disambiguation page rather than remain a redirect to Bobby Ávila. --Jack Frost (talk) 04:32, 5 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
    • My opinion is that Beto Avila should redirect to Roberto Avila since "Beto" is generally a nickname for "Roberto" in Spanish, and both WP entries with the name Beto have Roberto as their legal first names.--Ortizesp (talk) 19:27, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
