This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force in an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues that may need to be addressed, listed below. I will check back in seven days. If these issues are addressed, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GAR). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be nominated at WP:GAN. Feel free to drop a message on my talk page if you have any questions, and many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this article thus far.

  • There is one dead link,[1] and some other pages have moved, so the links need to be updated.
  • This article tells me almost nothing about the organization. I appreciate that some things may be secret, but how many members does it have, for instance? How is the organization funded? What does it do with its money?
  • The article has a tendency to lapse into self-promotional language, such as: "Many times, brothers in Beta Upsilon Chi find that those with whom they share their cell group become their closest friends within the chapter and within their college." Which is also uncited btw.
  • There has been a request for citation in place since July 2007.
  • "Several universities presently have an active BYX Expansion Process underway." Currently as at when?
  • "The fraternity is currently composed of 24 chapters ...". The web site given to support this assertion appears to list only 23 chapters. Again, current as at when?
  • Are the lists like "current prospective schools" and current list of board members likely to be kept up-to-date? Doesn't seem so, as Jon Sherman isn't listed as a board member on the official web site. If they're not going to be maintained, then what's their value?
  • Some of the links are unhelpful, in that they go to disambiguation pages. Pledges, for instance.
  • The easter egg link from Greek life is a complete mystery to a non-American. What have fraternities got to do with Greece?
  • The lead is too short to adequately summarise the article.
  • Some of the prose needs work, for instance: "ΒΥΧ was founded at the University of Texas in 1985 by the national founding fathers, and led by Wendel Weaver as the first president , and today sits on the National Board of Directors" doesn't make sense.
  • "... the founding fathers organized the first Island Party". What's an "Island Party"?
  • "The influence of Beta Upsilon Chi, Brothers Under Christ, on the Christian fraternity movement has been significant. What has been characterized as the Texas movement was associated with the rise of the Evangelical Christian movement and the founding of Beta Upsilon Chi in 1985." This needs to be sourced.
  • The final chapter of the Inspiration for new fraternities section seems curiously vague. "Four men"? Which four men? Is it significant that there were four?

As these issues remain unaddressed this article has now been delisted. --Malleus Fatuorum 22:56, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
