Berthellina citrina
  • ... that acid secretions produced by Berthellina citrina provide defence against predators such as sea anemones, fish and crustaceans?

  •   Hi Cwmhiraeth, review follows: article created 25 November; article exceeds minimum length and is well written; article is cited inline throughout to what look like reliable sources; I didn't spot any overly close paraphrasing from the sources; hook is interesting and mentioned in the article, the source backs up the claim; a QPQ has been carried out. No issues here that I can see - Dumelow (talk) 10:28, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, and think it would be a lot more hooky with that image if you call it by its common name:
  • ALT1: ... that acid secretions produced by the orange gumdrop sea slug (pictured) provide defence against predators such as sea anemones, fish, and crustaceans? Yoninah (talk) 12:37, 6 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
  •   Thank you. Restoring tick per Dumelow's review. Yoninah (talk) 13:47, 6 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Possible future citations for its acid defenses edit

While looking for a link to a journal article cited in this article, I came upon two articles that could be useful as future citations, shown below.

  • Moustafa, Alaa Y.; Wägele, Heike; El behairi, Serag Eldin I. (August 2014). "Toxicological and Biological Activities of the Acid Secretion of Berthellina citrina (Heterobranchia, Pleurobranchidae) from the Red Sea" (PDF). International Journal of Advanced Research. 2 (8): 13–24. ISSN 2320-5407.
  • Awaad, Aziz; Moustafa, Alaa Y. (July 2016). "Immunotoxicity of skin acid secretion produced by the sea slug Berthellina citrina in mice spleen: Histological and Immunohistochemical study". Acta Histochemica. 118 (6): 596–605. doi:10.1016/j.acthis.2016.06.005. ISSN 0065-1281. PMID 27378377.

I'm not familiar enough with the subject matter that I feel comfortable using these to contribute, but I hope someone who is can make use of them. :) TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 16:07, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Citation from a predatory publisher edit

It should be noted that a citation currently used in this article (Sheeja & Padmakumar) is from a journal published by a known predatory publisher, the International Network for Natural Sciences. Both of the authors seem to work in a relevant department at the University of Kerala, but I thought this potential issue should be brought to the attention of other editors.
