editReyes did not want to run for president in 1899 (there wasn't even an election that year) and he was definately not exiled by Díaz. After all, he was named minister of war in 1900, and two years later he became governor of Nuevo León again. Mixcoatl 22:18, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Give me the sources, and I'll make the changes. I saw an interesting piece on Reyes on elnorte.com... wonder if we can use that... Hari Seldon 10:00, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
"to prevent him for causing problems in Mexico." -- This does not quite make sense. What should it say?--A 00:40, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... this is not helful for those of us who chose him as the topic of a project in a history class... I was told by my teacher that he was chosen for an election by Diaz, who claimed he wanted to stop running for office, shortly before Mexico's 100th and Diaz's 80th birthyear... Diaz then changed his mind. Also I was told that Reyes exiled himself in America. 216.167.172.170 (talk) 03:48, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- Most sources (look through some of these [1]) pretty clearly state that he was forced into exile. But, given that, he went "willingly" (he didn't buckle and try to fight it). Removing the tag.radek (talk) 03:34, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
